The Challenges faced by Higher Education Institutions

COVID-19 has accelerated processes in the education sector and has raised issues that have existed in the education and higher education market for many years. These problems require a quick response that educational institutions are struggling to provide, as well as a change in the way we address the role of academia in educational development pathways.

Challenges faced by higher education institutions:

  • The need to stay applicable to the job market - the content being taught must not become irrelevant.
  • Students are looking for value for money at university, and questioning the long-term value of their studies due to the high dropout rates and tuition/funding costs that they must pay to cover their tuition.
  • Educational institutions’ income is negatively impacted by high dropout rates.
  • The institutions’ teaching methods and content delivery must be updated and adapted to the ways in which students are accustomed to learning and consuming content.
  • The growth of these higher education institutions is limited to the amount of their physical places.

The Challenges faced by Students

  • Higher education is still the entry ticket to the job market.
  • The study methods at university tend to be fundamentally different from study methods used in high school.
  • Students are expected to get good grades so that they can find their place in the job market.
  • There is a large gap between the students in more secure financial positions and those in less secure financial positions.
  • There can be a disconnect between the content taught in class and that which appears on the final test.
  • Various pressures, such as the pressure to succeed and pass their academic exams, financial pressures to fund their studies, etc.
  • The unavailability of tutors and lecturers to assist with their studies.

Our solution:

  • We give students the tools they need to succeed.
  • Our short videos, prepared by leading lecturers in their fields, include many exercises.
  • Proprep’s content is available at any time, accessible on any medium (computer, mobile phone) and from anywhere.
  • Our technological solution allows a course to be adapted for each student according to their faculty and the subject they are studying.
  • We allow students to learn in their own time and at their own pace.
